MOOCs > Coursera Collaboration
In February 2013 the University of Copenhagen became a Coursera partner institution.
Coursera is a the leading platform for massive open online courses, which, since it was launched in April 2012 has experienced a rapid growth from being a small endeavour of four american universities to a global platform offering hundreds of courses to millions of users from several dozen of the world's leading universities.
The course production is supported by a central administration and production unit, hosted at the Centre for Online and Blended Learning, and overseen by a steering committee, with representatives from the University's six faculties and the central administration.
The University of Copenhagen's first massive open online course - An Introduction to Global Health - was launched on Coursera on 2 September 2013. Since then thousands of learners from across the world have signed up and completed one of the University's open online courses.
